Which gaming laptop? | Tom's Guide Forum
1. Are these suitable for some video editing as well? They've got 16gb of RAM which isn't a great amount for editing but it's not bad.
2.On the subject of RAM, one of my major concerns is the ASUS has ddr4. The Lenovo and MSi both have ddr3, gaming on a laptop will it make that much of a difference? The ASUS RAM is pretty damn fast, does the discrete graphics rely on quicker RAM? Sorry it's been a while since I've kept up with this stuff, a lot to consider.
3. Anybody have experience with the cooling on these? I know, I know laptop gaming is bound to get hot, but I also know some are better at controlling heat than others.
4. 3 different CPUs- Msi has the 5700HQ, ASUS has 6700HQ, Lenovo has 4720HQ. Which of these would be best for gaming and editing? Strangely enough the 5700hq has the highest benchmarking score and and overall best single core performance which would be good for gaming yes?
Please help me out with some insight on these laptops, good deals or no? Do you guys have any better deals to show me, I don't really care about certain specs or super HD screens or pretty lights, just as long as it can help me with frequent video editing and playing games like Skyrim and Farcry 4.
